About this event

The Deep Blue blends rebellious lyrics with hypnotically beautiful harmonies, captivating audiences with every performance. Since bursting onto the scene in May 2021, their debut EP sparked a wave of attention, with key indie press, such as DORK, clamouring for the inside scoop on this hot new band. Comprised of Georgia Gage (from Edinburgh), Katie Emanuel (from Marden, England), Niamh Feeney (from Sligo, Ireland), and Sophie Wozencraft (from Llanidloes, Wales), the band have completed three dazzling UK tours, sold out nine headline shows (including London’s Camden Assembly and Manchester’s YES Pink Room), and gained significant airtime on BBC Radio 6. Their sumptuous sound is underpinned by their fine instrumental chops topped off by stunning three-part harmony by Georgia, Katie and Niamh. Since 2023 they’ve been hitting the summer festival circuit with standout performances on the Y Not main stage, Tramlines, and Truck Festival, playing major tours under their own name and in support. Their most prestigious engagement to date was joining The Waterboys on a major European tour, opening the show and singing backing vocals. So far their only Edinburgh appearance has been at the Usher Hall with The Waterboys. They are destined to headline their own large venues soon, so we say catch them in the intimate setting of The Traverse before it’s too late!
