Best) F Mendelssohn Overture to St Paul (Arr.Best) Overview In today’s concert, Birmingham City Organist Thomas Trotter celebrates the life and work of William Thomas Best who was born 200 years ago. Liverpool City Organist from 1855-1894, Best was widely considered to be the greatest organist of the Victorian Age and his own spectacular arrangements of orchestral music added a new genre to the concert organist’s repertoire.
