FOLKLORE PRESENTS - KAT PEREIRA: Kat Pereira is a Montreal-based artist crafting luminous, maximalist alternative electro-pop. A multi-instrumentalist and synesthete, she has also worked as a keyboardist, guitarist, bassist, flutist and backing vocalist alongside artists such as Alfa Rococo, Eli Rose, Laura Niquay, Lara Klaus and Laraw. With her own project, she has performed on stages including Quebec’s Fête nationale in Laval, Les Francos de Montréal, Festival d’été de Québec, M for Montreal, Coup de cœur francophone, Ottawa Bluesfest and Departure in Toronto. In fall 2026, she will also cross the Atlantic to bring her project to European audiences. She first gained wider recognition as a finalist at Les Francouvertes, one of Montreal’s leading showcases for emerging francophone artists. Drawing inspiration from queens like Erykah Badu, Hiatus Kaiyote and Saya Gray, Kat Pereira blends bold, socially engaged poetry with infectious melodies, exploring themes that are both deeply personal and universal: colonialism, feminism and the search for identity. Alongside Félix Petit (Les Louanges, Hubert Lenoir, Ariane Roy), she released vert de lichen in fall 2025, her debut album coloured by the pale green hues she associates with D-flat. “This fusion of jazz, pop and R&B - more complex than its sing-along choruses might suggest, complete with the ‘woo!’ prompts flashing across her illuminated sign onstage - shows tremendous potential.” - Le Devoir Doors open 7.30pm. Music starts 8pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat , we recommend arriving early!
