FOLK AND ROOTS PRESENTS: SHEM FILLMORE BAND - “Shem Fillmore is an absolute force of nature. He is a brilliantly eccentric and virtuosic musician, and his shows are at once musically tight, entertaining and enlightening. His band has a line-up of stellar musicians, performing tight and quirky arrangements of traditional folk tunes from the UK and beyond, adding improvisation to the melting pot of flying folk medleys.”- Rachel Hayter, Alvorada. English traditional music from a parallel universe – Shem Fillmore and his quartet stir together the future, past and alternative timelines into a seething broth. The music draws from the social music making of recent traditions, as well as mystical threads from the baroque-era and more contemporary influences. The band explores patterns, rhythms, movement and the crooked and exciting corners of the English tune repertoire. Doors open 1.30pm. Music starts 2.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat , we recommend arriving early!
