FOLK AND ROOTS PRESENTS: KERTTU Finnish singer-songwriter and self-proclaimed ‘island girl’ Kerttu enchants audiences with her powerful yet delicate voice and charming guitar work. Be prepared to be spell-bound by a combination of original songs from her upcoming debut album ‘Saari’ – inspired by an urge to understand her own experience of this human life, the mystery of love and her relationship with nature – combined with traditional Finnish folk songs and lullabies she has gathered throughout her life so far. Her voice effortlessly dances across octaves of pure melody like a stone skipping across water toward summer green pine forests, island beaches and the dream like archipelago’s of her childhood. Be prepared to be spell-bound by a combination of original songs and traditional Finnish folk. For this show she has put together a special set and be joined on stage by musician friends she’s met whilst living in London for the past 9 years. Kerttu is currently putting the finishing touches on her debut album ‘Saari’ and is planning on releasing it next year. Doors open 1.30pm. Music starts 2.30pm. The venue is mixed seated and standing. Tables are limited, and available on a first come first served basis, so if you’d like a seat , we recommend arriving early!
