Birmingham's community-led cultural venues - diaspora arts centres, heritage organisations, faith-adjacent cultural spaces, neighbourhood arts programmes - programme for their own communities first. That specificity is what makes them worth attending as an outsider: the programming assumes an audience that already cares, already knows the context, and doesn't need it explained. The events you find here exist because a community decided they should.
