www.thebritishacademy.ac.uk/ →The British Academy is the UK's national academy for the humanities and social sciences, founded by Royal Charter in 1902. It is based at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace, a Grade I listed building designed by John Nash in 1831, and is a fellowship of over 1,000 leading scholars that also funds research across the UK. Its public programme centres on free lectures and conferences spanning the full breadth of the humanities and social sciences — history, archaeology, philosophy, literature, politics, economics, psychology and law among them — open to anyone regardless of academic affiliation.
