In 2017, he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit (Commander) by the Brazilian government for his contributions to music and culture. About the performance Marcelo Bratke presents a captivating performance blending cinema and the sound of popular Brazilian music. The visuals include a 15-minute documentary capturing a tour by Marcelo Bratke and Mariannita Luzzati, who performed in 10 Brazilian prisons. £37.50Shawn Colvin celebrating 30 years of a Few Small Repairs with rare UK Tour. Over the course of three decades, Shawn Colvin has established herself as a captivating performer and a revered storyteller, well-deserving of the commendation of her peers and the devoted audiences who have been inspired by her artistry. Celebrating 30 years of her classic album A Few Small Repairs, Shawn returns to the UK and Ireland for a rare tour. As she enters her thirtieth decade as a songwriter and performer, Shawn continues to reaffirm her status as a vital voice in music. Shawn Colvin stopped the industry in its tracks with her arresting 1989 debut, Steady On. The following spring, Colvin took home the GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album, establishing herself as a mainstay in the singer-songwriter genre. In the ensuing 30 years, Colvin has won three GRAMMY Awards, released thirteen superlative albums, written a critically acclaimed memoir, maintained a non-stop national and international touring schedule, appeared on countless television and radio programs, had her songs featured in major motion pictures and created a remarkable canon of work. "...extraordinary songs, mesmerising guitar playing, and a voice that goes effortlessly from bruise-tender to scar-hard in a matter of minutes... her lyrics are crafted and clever, full of subtlety and polished phrases...With delicious sarcasm and acerbic stories, she held the audience spellbound... her songs are so personal to her that they speak to everyone who listens." - The Guardian Make your dinner reservation to eat at our Margins Cafe before the show! £45David Duchovny has spent the last decade steadily building a body of work as a songwriter and recording artist, working with a small and dedicated group of musicians and friends. On Prince of Pieces, his fourth album, that dedication and those longtime relationships come together to create his most cohesive, collaborative and intimate work yet. Duchovny’s work across film, television, writing and music reflects a broader creative drive that has taken shape over time. He has authored multiple books, hosts the podcast “Fail Better” and tours globally, with songwriting remaining a consistent part of his output. As the Telegraph notes, he’s a “likeable polymath [who] delivers some fine, weighty songs.” “Music and art can lead you to some pretty interesting places,” admits Colin Lee, one of a trio of musicians (alongside Mitchell Stewart and Pat McCusker) who have been a part of Duchovny’s musical journey since his debut album, 2015’s Hell or Highwater. “We all have a lot of fun playing together, and David’s lyrics paint a lot of cool imagery.” More Information: For Accessibility, please click here.
