He made his European debut at the Salzburg Festival in 1988 and has since performed at leading venues worldwide, including Sala São Paulo, Wigmore Hall, Suntory Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin, and Carnegie Hall. He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Alexander Lazarev, Isaac Karabtchevsky, and John Neschling, as well as artists including Julian Joseph and Milton Nascimento. In 2008, he founded Camerata Brasil, an orchestra of young musicians from underprivileged backgrounds, which has performed internationally. Bratke also created the Cinemúsica project with visual artist Mariannita Luzzati, and the Villa-Lobos Worldwide Project, dedicated to promoting the composer’s work through recordings and performances. Alongside his performance career, he is an active broadcaster and filmmaker, hosting the radio program Alma Brasileira and producing multiple television series on classical music. In 2017, he was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit (Commander) by the Brazilian government for his contributions to music and culture. About the performance Marcelo Bratke presents a captivating performance blending cinema and the sound of popular Brazilian music.
