Evelyne Berezovsky (Opener) Josiah Wade Book Now Home / Events / Evelyne Berezovsky (Opener) Josiah Wade Evelyne Berezovsky has performed concertos with the Tokyo Mozart Players under Xavier Roth, Musica Viva under Alexander Rudin, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra under Andris Poga, Thailand Symphony Orchestra and Czech Philharmonic under Gudni Emilsson, Hulencourt Soloists Chamber Orchestra under Giuseppe Montesano and the Enschede Symphony Orchestra under Jaap wan Zweden amongst others. Born in Moscow in 1991 Evelyne started playing the piano at the age of 5 and appeared with an orchestra for the first time at the age of 11 playing Mozart’s Concerto K415. She has studied with the renowned professors Hamish Milne (London), Elisso Virssaladze (Italy), Rena Shereshevskaya (Paris) and recently has been working with Maria João Pires in Portugal. Evelyne is a Grand Prix winner at the Goergy Cziffra International Competition (2019) in Paris, France. Jasmine Jethwa’s music is shaped by a blend of Western and Indian influences and her South London upbringing, combining rich emotion with an instinctive sense of melody and harmony. Growing up, she was immersed in sound and movement, training from a young age in contemporary, jazz and ballet. That physical relationship to rhythm still runs through her songwriting, giving her songs a sense of momentum and emotional pull. Her earliest musical memories come from long car journeys soundtracked by artists such as David Gray, Tracy Chapman, Dido, The Eagles and the Gipsy Kings. Those records left her with a lasting love of acoustic, guitar-led music. Alongside this, watching Bollywood films with her Gujarati grandmother introduced her to Hindi melodies and vocal traditions that subtly inform her expressive vocal style. Jasmine’s songs blend folk-tinged acoustic pop with a reflective, inward-focused and honest sensibility. As she prepares her next release, she is leaning further into the mysticism that runs through her music, creating songs that feel both intimate and transportive, rooted in feeling as much as form. Doors will open for early dinner ticket holders at 18:30. The Margins Cafe serves delicious, freshly prepared food at gigs and events. All profits go towards The Margins Project, based here at the Chapel which works with people who face issues of homelessness and crisis. Please arrive early before event door times if you have preferred seats. Due to the nature of our venue, please be prepared to queue for entry. The venue is fully accessible, with use of ramps and the upstairs bar is accessible with use of a platform lift. Please email [email protected] with any specific accessibility requirements, that we should be aware of, as soon as you purchase your ticket as requests are dealt with on a first come, first serve basis. The bar is located on the first floor of the venue and will be open from the stated door time and remain open after the show. Alcohol consumption will be limited to the bar area only, it is not permitted to take alcohol to the main chapel space. An array of soft drinks and snacks will also be available and are permitted in the main space - please note the Union Chapel bar and kiosk accept card payment only. Strictly no food or drink may be brought from outside into the venue. Water bottles must be emptied before entering the venue, with refilling stations available inside.
