Works In Progress x Small Distractions Club: Unfinished materials

Works In Progress and Small Distractions Club join together, inviting you to peek behind the curtain of your favourite artists’ creative process. Artists will play and discuss unfinished songs and ideas that they’re working on, and read aloud writing that has not found its final form in a song. We will hear poetry, prose, dreamscapes and more: writing that exists separate to the artist’s lyrical output. This evening will feature works from Jasmine (Ugly), Misty Miller, Hugo Winder-Lind, Lily (English Teacher), Georiga (The Last Dinner Party), and George Orton (Bug Teeth). We invite you to consider the steps before the song, to hear material that is on this journey or perhaps has taken its own path away from the musical route altogether. The idea is to create a space for the unfinished and the unresolved, and in doing so to shed light on the final product. Works In Progress is the project of Rachid Fakhre (Skydaddy). Small Distractions Club is the work of Rhiannon Kane, exploring intersections between music, writing and the literary. The venue opens at 2pm for drinks in the bar. Everyone is welcome to come early and enjoy the space, however we recommend arriving for the event at 7pm at the latest to settle in and get your seats.
