About this event
As part of our support of new and emerging work, we invite you to Studio One for two Preview Performances of Who Cares? by Bert Roman. Who Cares? is: A waiting room. A ward. A dance floor. A place to laugh, to question, to remember, to imagine. A place for giving and receiving. A place where care is explored—not just as an idea, but as something we can do together. Who Cares? is a queer dance-theatre performance inspired by Bert Roman's lived experience as an NHS nurse and union organiser. Blending movement, music, humour and audience participation, the performance asks: What happens when the carers are no longer cared for? And how might we imagine another way? As the performance unfolds, you may be invited to move a chair, hold an object, answer a question, make a choice, or help shape what happens next. Every invitation is exactly that: an invitation. There is no performance required from you. You are always free to say yes or no. Consent is part of the choreography. Whether you choose to take part or simply witness, your presence matters. Care is not created by one person alone. It exists in the space between us—in the choices we make, the attention we give, and the ways we show up for one another. Thank you for being present. Let's find out, together. There will be a post-show discussion following the performance on Saturday 17 October.
