Acclaimed vocalist ESKA teams up with some of London’s finest emerging jazz talent for another very special Tomorrow’s Warriors +1 live session. Zimbabwe-born, London-raised singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ESKA defies categorisation, blending soul, folk-pop, jazz, electronica and blues. Her twenty-year career has taken her around the world, collaborating with artists including Grace Jones, UNKLE and Tony Allen. In 2015, ESKA released her self-titled debut album to rave reviews, earning a Mercury Prize nomination. ESKA will be joining Tomorrow's Warriors Junior Band - an exciting line-up of musicians aged 14-16, featuring some of the most promising musicians on Tomorrow's Warriors' award-winning Young Artist Development Programme and are closely mentored by Rosie Turton - one of the finest trombonists on the London scene. Whilst following the lineage of jazz of the great jazz canon, they bring their own unique style and arrangements to their music. Tomorrow’s Warriors offers a pioneering, comprehensive programme of learning and training which champions and supports young Black and female talent and those who come from challenging circumstances that would be a barrier to accessing opportunities to pursue a music career.
