A pair of mob money couriers, Frankie and Tony, are transporting a package containing one million dollars when they encounter two women, Dana and Marcia, who trick them and steal the money. With the threat of their criminal employers hanging over them, the two men must track down the con artists and recover the stolen cash before they become targets themselves. Lee Frost blends crime thriller, film noir, and exploitation elements in a gritty black-and-white story of betrayal, greed, and revenge. Featuring involvement from exploitation figures including producer and actor David F. Friedman, the film occupies the rougher edge of late-1960s independent American genre cinema, mixing a straightforward crime plot with the era’s emerging “roughie” sensibilities.
