About this event

The Forgotten Library exhibition aims to dig into the unique collection of items that belonged to Enriqueta Rylands, the founder of the John Rylands Library; in particular her personal collection at the library in her home, Longford Hall. The collections she chose to keep at home highlight her unique tastes, perspective and personality. This collection encounter will bring you closer to Enriqueta and the story of her libraries by highlighting the ways she managed both her position as a powerful women, as well as the behaviour of unruly men around her. Drop into the Reading Room. No booking required. Access information can be found on AccessAble https://www.accessable.co.uk/the-university-of-manchester/access-guides/john-rylands-research-institute-and-library Please note, this event is not suitable for organised groups.
