Grammy Season is a quartet built around the longstanding partnership between saxophonist Ingrid Laubrock and drummer Tom Rainey, two of the most exciting players on the creative New York scene. It also features two other key players on that scene: guitarist Brandon Seabrock and bass player Shawn Lovato. John Fordham reviewing their album That Last Quiet Place stated: 'Grammy Season' album is a terrific outburst of jostling free-jazz, and the title track a soft-strummed guitar groove from the orchestrally-resourceful Brandon Seabrook that becomes a swaying reverie with Tom Rainey's unobtrusive percussion beneath and Laubrock's airborne soprano lines above. -- John Fordam - Jazzwise.com
