Through this endearing account we are brought all the way up to Y2K fashion trends popularised by Paris Hilton and her chihuahua, Tinkerbell, and the pet influencers of the 21st-century. Pug-owner and pet historian Stephanie Howard-Smith reveals how small dogs have shaped our lives as much as we have theirs. Through our companionship these breeds challenge social dynamics, change the way we spend our leisure time, offer a chance for self-expression and contribute to a global industry now worth over £250 billion. Yap! is a paean to the unbreakable bond between humans and their petite pets. Stephanie will be joined in conversation by journalist and writer, Nick Duerden.
