Writer-director Curry Barker follows up $800 YouTube hit Milk & Serial with a frighteningly effective, and entertainingly gory cautionary tale for all. Bear, a hopeless romantic, purchases a supernatural “ One Wish Willow” to make his longtime crush, Nikki, fall in love with him. He gets exactly what he asked for, but soon discovers that her love has turned into a dangerous and dark obsession, turning his dream into a nightmare. Barker seamlessly adapts the unsettling absurdism of his digital roots into a cinematic dread reminiscent of Zach Cregger’s breakout work.
