About this event

As a preview for Requiem For A Village, Steven Wilson will be hosting a night at The Social in central London. Songs From The Village will be an introduction to all the music that inspired the album, a night that takes a trip into the British Isles’ verdant undergrowth to a find a place where music has woven itself into the brickwork of an undiscovered village. Please join Steven Wilson for a DJ set at The Social (5 Little Portland Street, London, W1W 7JD) on the 22nd September to hear the songs that sit beside the album’s foundation stones. Expect everything from the gauzy otherness of Boards of Canada and Demdike Stare, the haunted ragas of Third Ear Band, to the creeping dread found in British children’s TV and other broadcasts from the ’70s. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to charity. Click here to find out how to get tickets.

If this is your kind of night, these are other ways in: a collection this venue belongs to, traditions it works in, and similar music still playing in London this week.
