About this event
Sherman’s March , winner of the Grand Jury Prize for Best Documentary at Sundance in 1987, is Ross McElwee’s monumental documentary which has been officially listed by the International Documentary Association as one of the top 20 documentary films of all time. Intending to make a film about General Sherman’s 1864 March to the Sea, Ross McElwee gets sidetracked. Affected by a recent breakup, he slows his progress through the American South to spend time with a succession of women and explore the possibility of romantic fulfilment in the nuclear age. Ross McElwee's latest feature Remake will be screened at the ICA from Sep 25 .
