About this event

Enter a brave new world with captivating talks and performance lectures from writer K Allado-McDowell, artist Mark Leckey and curator Danielle Paterson. Hear imaginative and provocative ideas, witness bold conversations and dive into the questions at the heart of Creative Intelligence in accessible, creative ways, guided by leading industry professionals and artists. Schedule 12 noon – Dark Forest OS: Build Your Own Internet with Danielle Paterson (community manager at DFOS) Cooperative futures depend on more than new ideas; they need new tools, new protocols and new ways of organising together. Through DFOS, this talk explores how creative communities can build infrastructure around shared values, and what becomes possible when the systems supporting culture are designed collectively rather than inherited by default. 2pm – Playing the Long Game: Art after AI and Extinction with K Allado-McDowell How might we see ourselves, our culture and our artmaking through the lens of the ‘inevitable’ futures of AI and extinction? A pioneering figure in AI literature, K Allado-McDowell focuses on art as a game played between all people of all eras, and what that means for navigating our changing culture. 4pm – Mark Leckey: Batter My Heart 3-Personed G0D (performance lecture) A talk/performance/video screening that begins with an apocalyptic vision in the Middle Ages and ends in the high-dimensional space we are about to enter. Along the way, we take in Hip Gnosis, The Cybernetic Sublime, The Y2K Millennium Bug and The Cloud of Unknowing. Creative Intelligence is commissioned and produced by the Southbank Centre. Curated with PACT – Planetary Art Culture Technology.
