About this event

Wednesday 9 December 2026 6.30 p.m. & 8.30 p.m.   Enjoy an evening of sparkling classics from the King of Christmas music – Sir John Rutter. Combining Rutter’s original compositions, as well as his arrangements of well-loved classics, this concert is sure to get you and your family into the Christmas spirit! Choose from performances at 6.30pm and 8.30pm. Each will last about 70 minutes, without interval, giving concert-goers time to have dinner either before or after the performance.   Featuring The L’Inviti Singers with Richard Pinel (organ) Directed by David Guest   Programme to include: The Angels’ Carol Candlelight Carol Nativity Carol The Shepherd’s Pipe Carol Star Carol What sweeter music? All bells in paradise Sans Day Carol O holy night Joy to the world Gabriel’s Message The twelve days of Christmas   The L’Inviti Singers are one of the UK’s best-kept choral secrets. For many years this choir could only be heard at exclusive private events across the UK and further afield, but across this year the choir is for the first time undertaking a series of public concerts at St Mary le Strand. The choir is handpicked from singers from the country’s top chamber choirs including Tenebrae, The Sixteen and the Monteverdi Choir. Here’s a short video of the choir singing What sweeter music? at Ripon Cathedral. The choir is accompanied by organist Richard Pinel, whose solo organ CD, L’Orgue Symphonique, has been praised for its ‘electrifying impact’ and ‘truly tremendous verve’. The performance is directed by David Guest, Director of the Christopher Wood Choral Foundation who are in residence at St Mary le Strand.   Buy your tickets here: 6.30pm Christmas with John Rutter 8.30pm Christmas with John Rutter   Email [email protected] for further info   PS – If you want restaurant suggestions, here are a few of our favourites.
