About this event
(Band Together) Dir Daniel Sánchez Arévalo/ES 2025/112 mins/Spanish wEng ST Javier Gutiérrez, María Vázquez, Judith Fernández Two years after a tragic shipwreck that devastated their small fishing community, a village on the Galician coast of Spain decides to revive their traditional music ensemble and compete in the annual regional music contest. Following in the footsteps of her father who was lost in the disaster, 18-year-old Andrea is chosen to lead the band. She reignites a long-lost spark in the village by blending traditional instruments with contemporary hits. As the community rediscovers the joy and enthusiasm they had lost, unexpected revelations about the cause of the shipwreck threaten to disrupt their fragile harmony. Rondallas (Band together) is presented as part of Voices of Contemporary Spanish Cinema – a series of events, curated by Santiago Fouz Hernández, showcasing Spanish and Latin American filmmakers in the UK. Presented in partnership with Instituto Cervantes Manchester.
