About this event

Dir Franc Roddam/GB 1979/131 mins [Includes short] Phil Daniels, Leslie Ash, Toyah Willcox By day, Jimmy Cooper is a disaffected teenager trudging through the working week at a dead-end job in 1960s London. By night, he dons a sharp suit, pops pills and seeks thrills on his scooter alongside a gang of fellow Mods. With the bank holiday offering the promise of escape, the Mods journey to Brighton for a violent confrontation with a rival gang of Rockers. But will a weekend in the teenage wasteland deliver Jimmy the freedom he craves? Based on the Who’s 1973 rock opera double album of the same name, Quadrophenia is the definitive depiction of rebellion and the emerging youth sub-cultures of 1960s Britain.
