About this event

Join Research Fellow Carmen Andall-Woodroofe for a recipe zine-making workshop that unearths food histories in Britain’s former Caribbean colonies. In this workshop you will hear stories of enslaved communities’ resistance against food insecurity at the hands of plantation owners told through key records at the British Library. You will then be given a short tutorial on zine-making and have time to create your own to take home. The recipe and materials will be provided but feel free to bring along any craft supplies and scrap paper that you would like to use. This event is for inter-generational audiences, however, histories of enslavement will be discussed therefore parental and guardian discretion is advised for younger audiences.
