About this event
William Klein’s documentary follows the legend himself, alongside the people and the media that contributed to his meteoric rise over a couple of decades. The second half, shot in colour, turns to his emergence as an increasingly politicised public figure during a period of fast changing cultural landscapes within the USA – focusing on his refusal to serve in the Vietnam War and the stripping of his world title away from him. As well as being the best, this is also the only real film about Muhammad Ali, with unique footage that has now become legendary.
