Pedro Almodóvar's 1986 erotic thriller explores the intimate relationship between pleasure and death through the convergence of bullfighting and murder. Diego is an ex-champion matador who now runs a bullfighting school. Still looking for a kick, he watches sadistic videos for sexual pleasure. Maria is a lawyer and Diego’s number one fan – she also likes to kill men with a hairpin at the point of orgasm. The pair are destined to meet.
