Some of Scotlands leading musicians pay tribute to one of jazz's greatest writers and tenor players. Martin Kershaw has been a central figure on the vibrant Scottish jazz scene for some 20 years, in constant demand as a performer, composer/arranger and educator. As leader and sideman he has performed with an incredible array of top national and international musicians, and has held the Lead Alto chair in the prestigious Scottish National Jazz Orchestra since 2004. Tonight will be a joyous tribute to one of the greats. Lee Konitz was a unique talent, with a sound and style that was instantly recognisable. An all-star trio of Martin Kershaw (sax), Ed Kelly (bass) and Greg Irons (drums) will celebrate the great man's legacy with a hand-picked selection of Konitz classics.
