Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach followed in the footsteps of his father, Johann Sebastian, to compose works blessed with remarkable originality and spirit. Mahan Esfahani, a dedicated champion of Emanuel Bach’s music, joins Aapo Häkkinen and the period-instrument players of the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra in the dazzling Double Concerto for harpsichord and fortepiano and as soloist in the ‘storm and stress’ drama of the Harpsichord Concerto in E minor.
