Lunchtime Concert | Willard Carter and Gorka Plada Friday 25 September 1–1.50pm Elgar Concert Hall, Bramall Free Willard Carter cello Gorka Plada piano Cello recitals are always a popular option for our audiences so what better way to kick off the season than with outstanding young cellist Willard Carter. Willard was one of this year’s Young Classical Artist Trust selections for their world-leading artists mentoring scheme and was named a Classic FM ‘Rising Star’ in 2020. He joins us with duo partner Gorka Plada for a programme centered around the sonatas of Debussy and Fauré. Schumann Adagio and Allegro, Op.70 Fauré Sonata No.2 for cello and piano in G minor, Op.117 Webern Drei Kleine Stücke, Op.11 Debussy Sonata for cello and piano in D minor ***** Admission is FREE and unticketed. Doors open at 12.30pm. Please be prompt as admission of latecomers is at the discretion of the venue. Food is NOT permitted in the concert hall. No mobile phones/devices during the performance. Access Information The Elgar Concert Hall is located in The Bramall Music Building. The Bramall Music Building has a café, level access, accessible toilets, baby changing facilities, and power assisted doors.
