About this event

Vocal ensemble The Mancunium Consort were founded in 2023 to share its joy and passion for choral music with a global audience, whilst widening the platform for professional singers in the north of the UK. Recent highlights in their calendar include collaborations with The Gesualdo Six and Manchester Baroque, a season-opening concert at The Bridgewater Hall, as well as the group’s debut tour. The programme they have curated for this lunchtime is called Nature’s Solace and is designed to be a deeply restorative choral journey, offering calm and reflection in an unpredictable and restless world. Generously supported by the Vaughan Williams Foundation and Earthsong Foundation, and rooted in themes of nature and renewal, the programme weaves together luminous works by Stanford, Grieg, Whitacre and Tallis, alongside multiple works by contemporary British composer Richard Barnard. This concert creates space to breathe, listen, and reconnect—a moment of warmth, beauty, and gentle escape through sound. Suitable for ages 8+
