Doors 3:00 PM, Music 3:30 PM - 1 set of music About: The LJO’s residency at the Vortex is a London jazz institution, producing great up-close-and-personal gigs since the club’s opening. Directed by Scott Stroman, today’s band is as vital as ever, featuring legendary soloists as well as exciting new talent. Their new Primetime album on Analogue/October records received rave reviews, and it will be follow by Between Earth and Sky later this season. Their special Festival gig will be made up of one 75-minute set, featuring brand new music by the band’s composer/soloists, including Stroman, saxophonists Pete Hurt, Tori Freestone and Mick Foster, pianist Alcyona Mick, guitarist Nick Costley-White, bassist Calum Gourlay, and trumpeters Andre Cannier and Henry Lowther
