About this event

Retro soul and jazz, a hint of funk, and a Northern English perspective. Take a journey through the cinematic soul world of Limbo Days, celebrating the release of debut album How To Get Up & Fly. With special guests the Yowies, Funk Yeah! DJs and comedian host Elliot Mason. Limbo Days is the moniker of UK songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer Elliot Gaspar. Raised in Blackpool by an English mother and Czech father, Gaspar grew up on a steady diet of classic rock, soul and disco. Piano came first, aged six, before guitar, bass and drums followed, giving his music a hands-on, band-minded feel. Originally started as a university production experiment, Limbo Days soon became Gaspar’s main creative outlet. His songs drift between tender, piano-led ballads to groove-heavy guitar tracks, pulling hip-moving rhythms from funk and Latin music, and stitching it together with warm, vintage-leaning production. Collaboration is central to the project, often featuring close friends to build a full, organic sound. Sincere songwriting with a dry Northern edge gives Limbo Days its character. Debut album ‘How To Get Up & Fly’ is released independently on Big Earth Records on 2 October 2026. Centred on togetherness, overcoming and quiet self-acceptance, leaving you like you’ve caught up with a long lost friend. Gaspar has also worked as a session musician for Pete Wylie & The Mighty WAH!, supporting him on his 2025 UK tour. He hosts the soul-focused radio show Soul Food, with guests including Terry Cole of Colemine Records and Kelly Finnigan, and is one half of soul-disco duo Stereo Rose.
