About this event

Doors 7:45 PM, Music 8:30 PM - 2 sets of music   Line-up: Jay Verma - Piano & Voice - Piano Luke McCarthy - Drums TBC - Double bass   About: Jay Verma is a London-born South Asian pianist and songwriter, renowned for a rare and distinctive harmonic language that has led to collaborations with Ganavya, SAULT and Unknown T, among others. Influenced by the tradition of musical storytelling, Jay blends piano-led composition with understated vocal narratives, drawing subtle lines between jazz improvisation, film scores and narrative hip-hop. His rhythmic sensibility is informed by his study of Konnakol, the South Indian vocal percussion tradition, as well as a longstanding love of grime. Jay is set to announce an upcoming project in 2026, citing influences including Keith Jarrett, Randy Newman, Sullivan Fortner and John Williams.
