Influenced by the tradition of musical storytelling, Jay blends piano-led composition with understated vocal narratives, drawing subtle lines between jazz improvisation, film scores and narrative hip-hop. His rhythmic sensibility is informed by his study of Konnakol, the South Indian vocal percussion tradition, as well as a longstanding love of grime. Jay is set to announce an upcoming project in 2026, citing influences including Keith Jarrett, Randy Newman, Sullivan Fortner and John Williams.
