Jason sets out on a perilous quest to find the Golden Fleece, leading a team of adventurers called the Argonauts. Along the way they encounter a multitude of monsters including bronze giant Talos, the Harpies, the venomous Hydra and an army of skeletons, all brought to life by special effects pioneer Ray Harryhausen. The memorable battle scene between Jason, two Argonauts and an army of skeletons, took Harryhausen four months to create. The film also features an exciting score by Bernard Herrmann, who gives each monster its own theme.
