Join us for a special alumni event in London on Thursday 1 October 2026 . Human Rights in Action: A Conversation with SOAS Alumni Many SOAS graduates are driven by a passion for human rights and pursue careers in diplomacy, international organisations, advocacy, and the NGO sector to help shape a more just world. Join the London SOAS Alumni Network for an evening of conversation with three distinguished SOAS alumni whose careers have spanned organisations including Amnesty International, Chatham House, Global Witness, Green Alliance, and the United Nations. At a time when human rights are under increasing pressure around the world, our panel will explore the challenges facing the human rights community today, how it can remain a force for positive change, and what gives reason for hope. Our speakers will also share candid reflections on their own careers, lessons learned, and practical advice for those interested in working in the field. Our panellists include: Jane Kinninmont , CEO, United Nations Association - UK Mike Davis , CEO, Green Alliance and former CEO, Global Witness Rasha Abdul Rahim , Senior Director, Own the Space and former Director, Amnesty Tech The discussion in the SOAS Gallery Lecture Theatre will be followed by a drinks reception in the SU bar, providing an opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with fellow alumni and panellists.
