About this event
When seventeen-year-old Abi tracks down the man she believes to be her father, she sets in motion a chain of events that will change two families forever. Doug is a successful journalist with a wife, children and a carefully ordered life. Beth, Abi's mother, has spent seventeen years protecting her daughter from a truth she hoped would never come to light. But Abi wants answers, and once she steps into Doug's world, long-buried secrets can no longer remain hidden. Sharp, funny and emotionally charged, Girl Out of the Blue is a compelling new play about family, identity, motherhood and the consequences of the choices we make. Written by Giles Cole, whose previous work includes The Art of Concealment , The Heart of Things and seven plays for BBC Radio 4, this powerful new drama follows the success of his previous Tabard production, After All These Years .
