Doors 7:45 PM, Music 8:30 PM - 2 sets of music   Line-up: Gary Crosby - Double bass Denys Baptiste - Tenor saxophone Rod Youngs - Drum kit Andrew Mccormack - Piano   About: Bassist, band leader and co-founder of Tomorrow’s Warriors, Gary Crosby OBE teams up with Mercury Prize nominee and MOBO award winning saxophonist Denys Baptiste to lead an all-star quartet for this celebration of the life and music of the legendary Sonny Rollins. Marking the both the passing of Rollins earlier this year, and the 70th anniversary of his iconic Saxophone Colossus album, Gary and Denys will be joined by Andrew McCormack (piano), and Rod Youngs (drums), as the explore his incredible musical legacy. Discussing the impact that Rollins had on him as a musician, Crosby explains "Sonny Rollins was more than the Saxophone Colossus; he was a colossus of imagination and invention. For me, his greatest lesson was that true artistry comes from having the courage to find your own voice."
