A wild evening exploring the range of careers working with animals From caring for pets and protecting wildlife to advancing veterinary medicine and animal welfare, working with animals offers endless opportunities to make a difference. Animals inspire us to explore, discover and connect with the natural world in meaningful ways. During the event, there will be a Q&A in the Theatre from people working across a wide range of animal-related careers, who will share their experiences caring for, studying and protecting animals and then open up the floor to questions from the audience. For the rest of the evening, you are free to explore interactive activities and demonstrations throughout the building. Meet experts from research organisations, charities and universities across the UK. Learn about the wide range of roles that support animal health, welfare, conservation and research, and take part in hands-on activities that bring these careers to life. This session offers an inspiring introduction to the incredible breadth of opportunities available to those who are passionate about animals, from veterinary science and conservation to animal behaviour, education and care. These events are designed for young people aged 13+, and offer an exciting hands-on experience of a huge range of scientific topics. Featuring scientists from Universities and companies from across the UK, these events give young people the chance to explore in depth a topic, talk to scientists working in this field, and discover the wide range of different jobs available. Adults are also welcome and encouraged to come along too, together with their young people. All young people under the age of 13 need to be accompanied by a paying adult.
