Cube Counter Culture series continues with Every Acre, Every Factory - Ideas for a necessary revolution. It is getting hot in our antechamber of barbarism, so much is clear. It's time to agree on a new political strategy. Time for a reconstitution of the communist project. ‘Every Acre, Every Factory’ is a film about how we can establish a sustainable mode of production and get rid of the current one. Comrades told us about their experiences of how the system was last challenged in the 1970s and how the state and capital managed to defeat the movement. Other comrades describe what the transition to a liberated society could look like. Workers who have been working in essential industries for decades explain what is harmful and pointless about their work and how it could be organised sensibly. From this thread of history, theoretical anticipation and everyday experience, we ask the question anew: What is to be done? The current global moment is marked by a classic systemic crisis: those in power don’t know how to proceed; they are entangled in spirals of senseless wars, a new arms race, and desperate attempts to squeeze just enough out of depleted soils and greenwashed bullshit jobs so they don’t have to declare an official recession. New technologies and knowledge are being squandered on socially meaningless or destructive projects, while the masses of workers continue to struggle on low wages. The signs point to collapse. What we need is a collective discussion on how we can avoid despair and instead prepare for radical change . With our film, we want to contribute to this collective discussion about systemic change. We have interviewed dozens of people who, in the international movements of the 1970s, plunged the system into crisis from below.
