About this event

A Wednesday night of sweet, swinging Gypsy-Jazz with Django Chutney, bringing their special sound rooted in the 1930s Hot Club era and reaching through decades and styles from New Orleans jazz to Chicago blues and Parisian musette! Django Chutney have been described as a virtuosic gypsy-jazz “manouche et trois”, due in equal parts for their respect for the genre, an unruly chaotic energy and a huge dose of tongue-in-cheek humour. They combine tightly woven three part vocal harmonies reminiscent of ’30s and ’40s American vocal groups The Mills Brothers and the Ink Spots; ridiculous guitar show-offery that draws as much from Django Reinhardt as it does from Guthrie Govan, and double bass solos that drag Pops Foster’s slap technique kicking and screaming into the 21st century. The Brighton-based trio have been blowing away audiences since 2021. In support, Le Trio qu’à trois, comprising of Gilles, Max, and Gus, revisit classic jazz standards. Jamboree food option : Our ‘Zer’ kitchen is open from 5pm serving delicious Middle Eastern fusion food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish! Find the menu HERE ! JAMBOREE IN ACTION!
