Indian baritone Darwin Prakash is acclaimed for his rich, warm voice and commanding stage presence. A recipient of the Queen’s Commendation for Excellence at the Royal Academy of Music, the Gus Christie Award at Glyndebourne, and the National Mozart Competition, he was recently elected an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in recognition of his contribution to opera. Following acclaimed debuts at English National Opera and Glyndebourne, he served as Principal Baritone at Staatsoper Hannover until 2025, performing leading roles including Figaro, Marcello, Papageno and Count Almaviva. This season he makes his Austrian debut at Stadttheater Klagenfurt, before returning to ENO and making his American debut with Houston Grand Opera.
