A matinee showing of a spaghetti western becomes a whodunnit a a member of the audience is shot dead during the gunslinging showdown. The Cinema of Tomorrow (F.K.A. PEPCOT) presents the second of three screenings on the theme of ‘Movies at the Movies’. Closed Circuit (1978) was made for Italian TV, but has since become a beloved cult hit for its mix of murder mystery and a sincere and philosophical love of the ‘magic’ of cinema. Come and watch Closed Circuit as it was never intended, but where it deserves to be, up on the big screen. This event is part of Programmers of Tomorrow (PoT): A season of workshops and screenings for the future of film exhibition. Consisting of two free workshops, three fundraiser screenings and a film festival all-dayer, PoT is spreading knowledge about film programming, building community around the love of movies, and facilitating first timers to put on their first ever public screening! Read more about it and how to get involved here. This screening is a fundraiser for both PoT and its venue, The Cinema Museum. The Cinema Museum is currently raising money to buy its amazing building and cement its place as the living archive of London’s cinema history. Doors will open at 6.30pm for drinks and snacks amidst the ephemera of cinemas past, showtime at 7.30pm!
