About this event

Join us in a very special evening to celebrate 40 years of providing drug and alcohol support to people in Bristol. We’ll take you on a musical and spoken word journey through BDP’s history, with over 70 performers from Creative Communities groups plus some very special guests from the wider Bristol scene. Creative Communities uses creativity and the arts to bring people with lived experience of drug and alcohol use together in inclusive, non-judgemental, and trauma-informed spaces. Expect spine tingling, soul affirming performances from Rising Voices Choir, Bristol Recovery Orchestra, Oi Polloi, Changing Tunes Beginners Groups, Trinity Move on Music, Hip Hop Garden and our Creative Writing Group. Plus resident DJs from Bristol Sober Spaces in the bar before and after the show. We’ll end the evening with a showstopping collaboration between all our groups, leaving you inspired, moved and full of hope for what is possible. “When we come here it doesn’t matter how we are, we have the freedom to be who we are and that’s really important to me” – Creative Communities member “The sense of community radiating from the stage – and in fact the whole room – was amazing” – Creative Communities audience member BDP Creative Communities is partnered with: Bristol Symphony Orchestra, Trinity, Bristol Old Vic, Changing Tunes, and Horizons. Suitable for all ages
