Olawale Ibrahim Ashimi, professionally known as Brymo, is one of Africa’s most compelling, brilliant, and fiercely independent musical voices. Born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, the singer, songwriter, and author has spent over a decade defying genre boundaries, blending African folk, jazz, rock, and alternative pop into a sonic experience that is entirely his own. Brymo first captured global attention with his unforgettable, soaring vocal hook on Ice Prince’s smash hit “Oleku”—one of the most successful African records of all time. After releasing his breakout sophomore album, The Son of a Kapenta, he made the bold decision to forge an independent path. Since then, he has established himself as a master storyteller and a captivating live performer, revered for his raw emotional delivery, philosophical songwriting, and vocal prowess.
