About this event

Bruce Adams has been a stalwart of the UK jazz scene for almost 50 years, performing with the likes of Harry Sweets Edison, Buddy Tate, Al Cohn and Benny Waters and is widely regarded as one of the finest mainstream cornet/trumpet players in Europe. Lately, Bruce has appeared regularly here at the Club with iconic UK saxophonists Alan Barnes or Art Themen, but for this show he’ll be joined by the fantastic tenor player, Robert Fowler. Across a 30+ year career Robert has worked with various large ensembles such as the BBC Big Band and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, as well as smaller groups including the Humphrey Lyttelton Band and the aforementioned Alan Barnes Octet as well as touring and recording with Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music). A terrific, swinging straight-ahead jazz gig from two masters of the genre! “Bruce Adams…there is as much delicacy as power in his playing” Guardian; "Robert Fowler‘s tough tenor sound was mightily impressive” UK Jazz News
