Celebrating France’s cultural golden age, and Napoleon’s revolutionary ideals that inspired Beethoven. Aulin Un Soir de Fête à Trocadero O’Connell New Commission Saint-Saëns Cello Concerto No 1 in A minor Beethoven Symphony No 3 in E flat Eroica Bristol Metropolitan Orchestra welcome back Steffan Morris to perform Saint-Saëns’ first cello concerto, a work which ranks alongside the Elgar and Dvořák concerti for its virtuosic brilliance. This uplifting programme also features a specially commissioned new piece by local composer Liam O’Connell, and concludes with Beethoven’s heroic and inspiring Eroica Symphony . Suitable for ages 14+
