Finish work and unwind with some world beating live music from Manchester’s best jazz musicians. Beat the Jams live series showcases the very best of the jazz scene, for short rush hour gigs at the iconic Band on the Wall. What better way to avoid those endless queues, chaotic traffic and stressful homeward journeys? Clock off and skip the rush-hour traffic while you watch live jazz and make the most of our happy hour deals from 5–7pm. Enjoy pizza and a house pint for less than £10! For November, we welcome an exciting emerging talent on the Manchester jazz scene. Saxophonist and composer Sam Lightwing brings presents brand new music for his thrilling young quartet. The group formed whilst studying at the RNCM and have been building a reputation for energetic and engaging performances across the venues/festival of the North. They will be showcasing Sam’s original compositions, which blend classic mainstream jazz grooves with modern flavours of post-pop and latin, all wrapped up in the language of contemporary sax giants such as Chris Potter, Seamus Blake and Joshua Redman.
