Delete your account

Applies to the Looge mobile app and to looge.co.uk. Last updated: August 2026

1. In the Looge app

  1. Open the Account tab.
  2. Sign in, if you are not already signed in.
  3. Scroll to Delete account at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. You do not need to contact us first.

2. On looge.co.uk

Sign in, open your account settings, and use the delete option there. The result is the same as deleting from the app.

3. If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] from the address registered to the account and ask us to delete it. We will verify that the request comes from the account holder and respond within one calendar month, as required by UK GDPR.

4. What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • Your account record — your email address and password hash, or the Google account identifier, name and profile picture if you signed in with Google.
  • Your preferences — email opt-ins, the consent records attached to them, and any phone number saved for WhatsApp updates.
  • Your activity — saved venues, the venues you marked as somewhere you want to go or have been, and anything else stored against your account.

There is no grace period and no archived copy you can ask us to restore.

5. What is kept, and for how long

WhatsApp message log

If you ever messaged us on WhatsApp, the record of that exchange is kept as an operational log, but your phone number and the content of your messages are stripped from it so the remaining row cannot be traced back to you.

Records held by our processors

Our email delivery provider and our analytics provider hold their own copies of some of this data. We will erase those on request — email [email protected] and say that you want processor records erased as well, and we will action it and confirm when it is done.

Backups

Residual copies may remain in our encrypted database backups until those backups are rotated out. They are not accessible to the site or the app, and are not used for any purpose other than disaster recovery.

Records we are required to keep

Where the law requires us to retain something — for example a record of a transaction — we keep only what the law requires, for only as long as it requires.

6. If you manage a venue

Accounts linked to one or more active venues cannot be deleted directly. Deleting one would take the venue and every listing attached to it as well, which would remove information other people rely on. Email [email protected] to transfer venue ownership first, and we will delete the account once that is done.

7. Who you are dealing with

Looge and the Looge app are operated by Looge Ltd., a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17304881), registered address Suite RA01, 195–197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU. Looge Ltd. is the data controller for the data described on this page.

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your request, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk.
