The Jazz Bar occupies the basement of a building on Chambers Street dating to around 1860, reached down two short flights of stairs, and has run a genuinely nightly live programme since 2005 — usually two to four sets a day across jazz, funk, blues and acoustic music.
It suits listeners who want music played live and close-up rather than from across a large room, and anyone whose evening is only getting started once most venues are winding down.
